I have a question about Windows Installer Appears Every Time I Start an Application:

I'm trying Solution #2, and had to run mmc.exe because I couldn't find gpedit.msc. However, when I try to add "Group Policy", it wasn't available as a snap-in. What do I do now?

You will need to go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services and then locate the Windows Installer Service and then Disable it or try to stop it. You might also want to End the "msiexec.exe" process tree from the task manager when you press Ctrl-Alt-Del.

I have tried this suggestion without success - 'Group Policy' snap-in still not showing as available to add in the list. How do I get it?
