Question about 'Share an Internet Connection'

I have a question about Share an Internet Connection:

I have got the ICS to work with WinXP as the host and Win2k as a client all seems to work fine except that certain pages (ex. bankone.com, swoon.com) don't seem to load at all and I cannot figure out why. Having turned off firewall/proxy settings etc rebooted.. rebooted.. rebooted etc.. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or has had any similar problems. All other pages (including https post/get etc) work fine and have no issues.. It is just certain ones.. ?? I am at a loss.

Hey, how did you get win 2000 to work as the client. I am trying to set it up that way but my win2k won't see the XP host??? Can you tell me the settings you have for the Win2k machine, and do I have to setup any rights or computer accounts on any of the machines? My 98 machine is working fine so I don't get it. Thanks for any help you can provide :)

It's basically a lot of trial and error. I just set it up today and at first it wasn't kicking in. Might have been because I didn't have "automatic detection" checked in my connection settings. In any event, I think this setup rocks! I'm able to use a lot of programs that I couldn't with winproxy (at least without mapping ports). But now my gateway computer for some reason will not see the workgroup I have configured; might be unrelated though.

First of all,you must have entered the prefered dns server ,alternate is not needed, also make sure you have gateway correctly entered in client machine, i have in both computers server-client installed ics,and its works ,i must do that because i have one internet ip shared and my ftp server dosn't work on client machine because it dosn't have ip from isp.

Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) on one of your "Client" machines. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ Tcpip\ Parameters\ Interfaces. There should be several subkeys under the Interfaces key; most likely, you'll find three. View the contents of each key by clicking, and find the one that corresponds to your primary network adapter; it will be the one with more values than the other two, and will have an IP address value set to something like 192.168.0.x. Once you've found the correct subkey, create a new DWORD value in it (Edit -> New -> DWORD Value), and name the value MTU. Double-click the new value, choose the Decimal option, and type the MTU value determined above. Click Ok when you're done - you'll need to restart Windows for this change take effect. Repeat this for each Client machine
