Nortons Internet Security Blocks our internet

We have recently installed Norton Internet Security on our PC running Windows XP, once installed and set up we found that we could not access the internet from our NTL Broadband Modem. We tried to change some of the settings and check that the network card is not being "restricted" by the firewall and it wasnt. We then tried the internet again, but still no success. We have now removed the software and the internet is back to normal, does anybody know what the problem is? Is there something that we have to enable/disable? Thanx Keith

Open Norton and click on internet security. Go to personal firewall settings and make sure the slider is all the way to the bottom. Next click on internet access control and find all your applications that use the connection and make sure the ones you use are set to permit all. Lastly go to internet zone control and be sure if you have a fixed address for your broadband it is listed in the trusted sites. Hope this helps.vote if
