c- dilla spyware

I recently installed a microsoft game on my XP system, only to discover that another
program "c-dilla" was secretly installed during the installation. This program functions
as both licence protection and spyware, and can (in theory) cause your CDRW to not
function correctly. I uninstalled the program that it came with, but that didn't
remove it, and I deleted the registry entries, but there is a service that automatically
starts itself when windows starts (under componant services (local services)). CDaC11ba.
I disabled it from starting, but it seems to restart itself. How do I remove it?
It also reinstalls its own drivers, so deleting the drivers associated with it dosen't
help...

I'm using Spybot and it found the CDilla as a device driver setting in
windows 98 c:\windows\system.ini
I'd like to know which lines in the system.ini file relate to CDilla and how
to recitfy the problem. I don't see CDilla anywhere else
including through msconfig or Add/Remove Programs.

Intuit has posted instructions to uninstall TurboTax and an Unstill program for c-dilla.
More information in the removal can be seen at http://discuss.extremetech.com/n/main.asp?webtag=extremetech&nav=messages&msg=25379.1
Hope this helps

You might try Regcleaner, a freeware program from http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/index.php
I've used it for 2 years with no problems and originally found it from a recommendation
in a PCMag article. It's primarily a registry cleaner, but it also has a feature
that could be perfect for your problem. Once installed, you can go to the Startup
tab and see a list of everything that starts when Windows starts, including items
that start from the registry. You can also remove (with automatic backup) an individual
startup item. You might be able to prevent c-dilla from starting this way.

is it apparently used by TurboTax 2002 to restrict the use of it to one computer
only .. I am increasingly displeased with their products...
