You need to unhide system and hidden files and you will have your answer. You will
see the pagefile and the hybernation file if enabled. Depending on the amount of
ram you have, these files can be quite large. There is also the space that XP uses
for system restore. (a percentage of the space on each partition which you can set
or disable). Welcome to the world of XP. It needs more space than previous versions.
