Question about 'Things that slow down system bootup'

I have a question about Things
that slow down system bootup:
Can I set up WinXP so that it opens one program at a time during startup?
In other words, can WinXP open the first program on the list of the startup menu,
wait until the program loads, open the next program, wait again, and so on...?)
I'd appreciate assistance.

I don't know how to do as you wish. All I know there is a program to make our boot
up being efficient and more faster. BootVis.exe, download it from "http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/performance/fastboot/BootVis.asp"
when run it will extract bootvis.exe at your temp directory, then run the extracted
one in temp dir. Hope this help

Apparently Microsoft has discovered that BootVis.asp was found to be useful to its
customer base and has therefore removed it from the website. Once again, Mediocrity
rules. For lame excuses and other details, please visit "http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/sysperf/fastboot/default.mspx".
Read to the bottom of the page. Please note that "http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/performance/fastboot/BootVis.asp"
no longer directs you to this file. -R
