I am having the same problem with Windows XP though my taskbar is at the bottom where
it should be. Autohide is off, it's locked, and "on top". Any way to fix this?

My granddaughter had a session on my comp and after a while I found my taskbar had
moved to the top. I got the quick launch bar back down but the taskbar including
the start button just refuse to come undocked to move back down. Never had this
refusal to undock happen before. Any suggestions.

Just set the taskbar properties to yes, autohide; no,locked;yes,on top! This should
fix it. This is actually in reply to the message that provoked the reply that I'm
replying to. . . .Does that make sense? If not, here's a funny idea. These days,
Windows XP has decided to start my programs maximised to the desktop, escept they
don't extend beneath the taskbar's real estate. Then if I minimise and maximise they
fill the desktop . . .. I don't know . . . Whatever. It's cool that way, but it's
weird that Windows simply decided to do it on its own! ?.

My application title buttons have also disappeared from the taskbar. Changing the
taskbar properties as Airy suggests has had no effect. Other suggestions eagerly
sought ...

Ok people I have the answer to your taskbar hiding woes.
Discover (freeware, 10KBs). Will work on ANY version of Windows (even though it was
built ages ago).
In use it uses about 3,200 KBs of mem so thats cool too!!
Just run after placing a shortcut to your startup and kiss those hiding titlebars
goodbye..

My application title buttons have also disappeared from the taskbar. These autohide
and always on top are not my issues. The titlebars are simply not there. Any help?

Have you found a fix for this problem?? I have the same problem too. All the application
windows aren't showing on the task bar.

I'm still hoping for an answer to the task-bar button issue. My taskbar is visible,
but there aren't any buttons (aka "titlebars") in it. If I minimize a window, I have
to use the Task Manager or Alt+Tab to retrieve it.
