When i power down using the Start Button-Turn off Computer my computers hard drive
shuts down but the power remains on. I then get a message that "it's save to turn
off your computer", after i turn off computer every thing seams fine, however after
about 30 minutes or so my computer turns it's self on. What's Up! When i was running
windows 98 when i would shut down everthing would shut down including the main power.

I'm not 100% sure this is the solution, but go to
start menu - settings- control panel - power options
and set your power scheme to 'home/office desk' instead of 'always on'

you've probably fixed it by now...but if not enable apm (advanced power management)
and power options in control panel, that should do it.
