Adding new options to context menu for .avi

I always use DivFix to watch partial avi's and wanted
to add an option on the context menu to fix the file
using DivFix. Something similar to WinZip how it has
the option to add to archive. I would like to do it
through the Registry. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

(Do you mean you want to use regedit? Why? Why not just add the command using windows
File Types tool? Did you try this and run into problems?)
I could help you try. There are a few possible ways to do it, and it depends on
how your .avi files are currently associated. Plus, you'll need to know yourself
if there's DDE stuff that's required.
E-mail me if you want help.

Try AviFiXP, the setup allows to integrate the software in the shell context menu.

I managed it by adding the following line to the the registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIFile\shell\Open and check with DivFix]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIFile\shell\Open and check with DivFix\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\klein grut\\DivFix.exe\" \"%1\" \"-E\""
This will create a context menu option "Open and check with DivFix" that will open
the file and check it for errors.
If you want to open the file and just rebuild the index, You should delete the \"-E\"
part at the end.
