Question about 'Using .CAB Files'

I am trying to restore the jdbgmgr.exe file after I deleted as a result of being fooled by a hoax virus. The McAfee website gives directions which include restoring the file by typing in the path to my WINDOWS CAB files. However, I can't locate them. I did a search. Nothing turned up. How do I locate them and once I locate them, how do I create a path? I've never done anything like this before. Thanks!

Sorry, this is about Win98, but applies to CAB files. I screwed up something in Registry, trying toget rid of WinSafe program. I went to DOS to run "scanreg /restore", but it isn't there! At least, I get "Bad filename or ..." doing a scanreg /? for hellp gives same msg. all other DOS seems to work. So, I found the CAB backup reg files, but wonder how I could extact them in DOS, or, m/b I can D/L the scanreg utility from somewhere? When I try tostart up Windows, it looks like its in Safe Mode, even if not, and asks me for my win98 registation #, which I suspect means it's trying to re-install Windows? looks like Windows is already ther in the DIR, so..suggestionns?

use google to see if you can find that particular file, Use your WIN98 CD to see if you can find, I'd bet That file IS on your computer but it is probably within some other folder/file which is concealing your wanted file's location. I deal with this question a lot, the best I can say is try www.google.com to attempt to find first., then try your OS CD, then try to bypass this mssg. then I don't know but I may be able to ask someone who does
