Hey Richard, I was talking to someone a couple days
ago as to why MS didn't have this feature built in. I
installed freeware on 9X boxes to do this. Hadn't
gotten around to the XP box yet. The directions at
the MS site you posted worked great. Thanks for
the heads up.

Let me add that it seems to work "as-is" on a Win2000 box but it needs modification
to work on NT4.
The "%1" after the dir command should be eliminated. NT4 does not include quotes
around the pathname that gets specified as a command-line argument when the DOS window
is spawned. This means that a space in the pathname will "break" the entire process
since NT4's DOS will see the portion of the pathname that comes after the space as
an additional argument on the DIR command-line.
In fact, I'm not sure that it's even needed at all. The dos box spawns in the correct
directory on its own, so giving a filespec to the DIR command seems redundant.

Thanks for the help I have needed this feature for ages. I coudn't understand why
Microsoft had never included it in Windows in the first place.
