Sounds like you already found it.... just hit "Clear."

You can only do it by going into the registry and blowing away all the hide/show
data.
Start Menu, Run, type: regedit
navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify
delete the IconStreams and PastIconStreams binaries on the right hand side
Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL > Processes tab > select explorer.exe and click End Process
To get your desktop back, choose New Task and type: explorer
Go back to taskbar properties and redo your customization.

Thanks..it works..really kool...to get rid of all the past foot prints..
