Question about 'Uninstalling Windows'

I have a question about Uninstalling Windows:

I have windows 98 on my c: drive. I was trying to install xp over 98 and it wouldn't let me, so I installed xp on my 2nd hard drive (d:). Now i have ended up with 2 operating systems and all I really want is Windows Xp. How can I uninstall xp from my d: drive and then change my c: drive from 98 to xp? The D: drive is set as a slave drive to C:

Your best chance of a good installation is to fdisk and format both drives and start
fresh. Installations over 98 or ME are troublesome (to be kind). Create a boot disk
from your WIN98 if you don't have one. Back up all personal documents that you want
or need to save.
Boot from your boot disk. Fdisk & Format D: and C:
Set your boot to boot from your CD before C: and boot from your XP Disc.
Be SURE your have your old 98 Disc, XP disc and all the program discs that you need
to reinstall. You can find many posts dealing with this problem. You may also get
more input. Good luck and review http://www.blackviper.com for a lot of good things
to do and NOT to do.

Sarah Why do u want to uninstall Win98 - believe me WinXp is not so universal, besides on D slave drive XP works as fast as on master. But if you anyway want your Win98 out - boot in your XP D drive and delete all on your C drive, exept Boot.ini, NTLDR, NTDEDECT.COM (one more - I don't remember its name if u have SCSI), then start new XP installation from your (D) XP. Marry X-mass

Thanks for the input. What consequences will I have if I keep both OS? Now I have the option to boot to either drive. If I boot to C; with Win 98 everything works fine etc. If I boot to D: drive with XP it works, but none of my programs show up even if they were installed to the D: drive originally. I wanted to switch to XP because I am having some instability in my network via cable modem and XP has a nice digital detect option. The bridges I use for my network work much better with XP. So, I am wondering if I should just leave the 2 systems or go to all the trouble to fdisk etc.
