Question about 'How do I display the date in the Tray (next to the clock)?'

I have a question about How
do I display the date in the Tray (next to the clock)?:
After I installed the program, I uninstalled it a couple days later. After I did
that, there's only a couple of tray icons that show up. They're both programs that
start up after it gets going. All the other icons, like sound icon, the icons that
Windows usually puts there are gone. I've checked to see if they're set up to be
shown there, and they are. They just don't show up most of the time. I have noticed
when I install something new, they show the first time I start Windows but go away
the next time I restart. Anybody help???

Right click on the taskbar, uncheck 'Lock the Taskbar', then click and hold the
top of the taskbar and drag until you can see the date.(by the clock)
To check the icons (by the clock) right click on the taskbar, click properties, under
the Taskbar TAB, in the Notification Area section click on the 'Customize' button,
this will give you info on your icons (by the clock)

A little utility called Tclock will do this for you. It has some anoying side affects
that can be shut off. It will also perform atomic or local server clock sync.

Hi!
I have tested this procedure three times, and there is a restriction:
When clicked Customize button, led to a list of existing icons, and cannot be added
the date.
Thanks for your help,
