3ivx Codec

Hello. I cannot play 3ivx files on my computer. I once was able to but something I installed recently, I guess, disabled the playback. I reinstalled the same codecs I used before when it was working (ACE Mega Codecs Pack & Nimo Codec Pack) but the 3ivx formatted avi files still don't play. They will open, but there's no video stream or audio stream. The "play bar scroller" is just stuck at the beginning (in Windows Media Player 6.4) and the play bar itself is grayed out. I can't play it on any other media players either (i.e. DivX Playa, BS Player, and Windows Media Player 8). In BS Player, it gives me the error message, "Unknown file format (DIVX)". I looked in search engines to try to find a solution to fix it, but the only significant thing I found was something about a FourCC Code Changer. I have that, and I messed around with it, and it didn't help. So, if anyone has any comments or ideas on how I can fix this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks. :)

did you install the 3ivx codec from nimo pak or did you install the codec directly from 3ivx.com? nimo codec pack has come compatibility issues with nero and ntc cd maker. if you have them both installed you may not be able to compress avi to mpeg, play 3ivx, play certain divx or avi files. i have been havining the problem on two of my machines for about 3 months. i uninstalled and reinstalld nero that fixed the prob for one machine (xphome) on my xp pro machiine i had to uninstall nimo. i reinstall when there is a need for me to but nero and nti will does not work and cannot play real format video

Yes, I do have Nero installed, but it was installed all along while the codec was working until it stopped working. I've tried both uninstalling nimo and re-installing over top of old installs and yes, I've tried the 3ivx codec direct from the official website but it still doesn't work. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling stuff and same for the "official" 3ivx codec. If it all works out, I'll post back. If not, I'll still post back.. hehe. :P

3ivx are Quick Time movies... Try downloading Divx502Bundle and see if that works. Also try downloading Virtual Dub and try playing your avi's with the playback capability. Go to Google and type in either of those to find download sites. Virtual Dub has worked for me when no other player would. It takes a while to learn how to use it... just experiment.
