Question about 'How do get the taskbar and desktop back if Explorer crashes'

I noticed that the article was written in December of 2001. It is now January 2003
and I was wondering if a fix had been found for the frequent crashing of Explorer.exe.
I get the problem all of the time and was wondering if there was any solution for
it.

I have done numerous searches and this seems to be the only forum that at least gives
a work around. copy/paste, opening/closing folders, moving folders will still crash
my xp home windows explorer shell -- some days i can get away with the above movements
for most of the day and then bang it goes. It seems to reoccur more often if i dont
reboot so some days i could reboot quite often -- 6 times. have never had it happen
when burning cd's

This is a very broad question there can be many problems but Top
reasons for random, fatal crashes in Windows XP and Windows 2000 covers the
high points Windows XP
Home and Professional Service Configurations may also help good luck, Adam
