I think it has to be something in connection with LimeShop in LimeWire. I also am trying to get it out of my screen for 2months now. See the webpage Limewire. Good Luck, Gaston.

Try going to this location in your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run You'll probably find an entry for an application that attempts to run wjview.exe, put there by the application you have removed. Deleting that line may solve your problem.

Doing what you said and going to the registry, I noticed a PSFREE.EXE there, which stands for 'Play Solitare Free' it's a spam program that appears during web surfing from a popup and installs itself in your computer, best way is to delete it, then go to where he said with the :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run , and delete the line reffering to the WJVIEW error, it should solve your problems

I tried this fix presented by Kalaloch and it worked great for me. To get to registry, from the run program, type in regedit and it will take you to a menu and you can follow the directions below to find the problem. Thanks for the help.

Thank you, Mike and Kalaloch, and to those others who had the fix. This definitely works. I hated the WJ View message everytime I started my computer. I followed the instructions below and deleted the wjview line. When I rebooted, I still had the message. I followed the instructions below again and found another line with wjview included and deleted it as well. When I rebooted it was finally gone! Thank you again. Diana

SYMPTOMS When you start your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you may receive the following error message: WJView error Could not execute main. The system cannot find the file specified. CAUSE This problem occurs if Windows XP is configured to run a Java program on startup through the WJView program. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, remove the WJView program from the System Configuration Utility. To do so, follow these steps: Click Start, and then click Run. Type msconfig.exe, and then click OK. Click the Startup tab. Click to clear all WJView.exe check boxes that may be in the Startup list. Click OK.

Get rid of WjView error!
Sunday, February 29, 2004 at 8:46 am
Posted by Adam Bueno (2 messages posted)

Hi I just found out a very simple way any one can get rid of that enoying WjView error that has been bothering so many others. All you have to do is open up your search program (Start-Search-For Files of Folders) and search for wjview it will bring up 3 file types and all you have to do is delete them. It feels nice not to have that enoying popup at my startup anymore. Good luck people
