Question about 'How do I uninstall Windows?'

I have a question about How
do I uninstall Windows?:
i have xp installed as my main os but still have the remains of 2000 and a failed
xp insallation. i have removed the two unused os from the boot menu but am still
left with FOUR windows folders in the program files folder of my hard drive. they
are : windows, windowsx, windowsxx and winnt. windowsxx is a temp folder, but the
other three are a gig each in size. if i just delete the two i don't want (winnt
and windowsx) will this adversely affect my system or current xp os. i know that
the windows folder is linked to the current os because the line "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect" appears in my boot file and where it says \WINDOWS=
it said winnt= or windowsx= for the os that i removed from this boot file. confused?
basically, can i just delete the folders winnt and windowsx without hurting my computer?
cheers
james

My suggestion would be to reformat your HD*, use a partition software to set up your
HD and then re-instal XP.
*Reformating your HD will blow away any and all info on the drive, so store all files
you wish to retain on a removable media before formating.
This is a barbaric solution to your problem, but if you want a clean drive and clean
install...........

first after you have uninstalled the unused OS in your computer there should be programs
that cannot run (because it required information in the uninstalled OS folder). try
to rename the windows (every windows folders that are in computer ) and there must
be no option for you to rename the one that is currently on use. So if you can rename
it, that's mean you can delete it. BACKUP the windows folder that u want to delete
that you need in the removing media or in the other computer before you do that.
This maybe not really the answer but it's worth a try.
