Question about 'Dealing with Windows's Advanced Power Management (APM)'

I have a question about Dealing
with Windows's Advanced Power Management (APM): Ii upgraded from win98 to winXP
and when I put the computer into standby mode sometimes it will come back when I
press a key or the mouse but many times it won't come back until I physically push
the power button on my computer. Can someone help me with this? I have an IBM aptiva
650mhtz with 256ram. Why does it come out of sleep mode sometimes but not all the
time? Wierd. I never had this problem with win98.

It sounds to me like the computer froze up while in standby mode. Do you have a problem
with it doing that occasionally at other times? Not being able to do anything, mouse
stops responding, etc. ?

No it has nothing to do with the computer freezing up, it is somehow related to the
advanced power management. I have no other problems with freezeups (thank God!!).
