Go to
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
On the Window that will appear choose
"Add/Remove Windows components" button on the left and de-select Windows Media Payer

i recently disabled media player by going to:
>Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
and 2 days later it was back WHY?
Microsoft grrr....

windows media player has become my default program and i can no longer view email
attachments. how can i disable this program?
