Right click on your toolbar at the bottom of your desktop choose Properties go to the Taskbar tab go down to "Show Clock" check the box................Taaaaada

I meant Taskbar and not Toolbar.

WIN-XP: Stretch the task bar upwards a bit, the date and day of week will appear! Or if you're like me and keep the task bar to the side of the screen, set to "auto-hide", just stretch is a bit wider.
