Domainnames wont resolve

Hello, after fixing my XP which was broken (it had no dialup possibilities anymore, see http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBL/tip5800/rh5820.htm), I cant get domainnames to be resolved to DNS. In my second XP it works, so its not my ISP or hardware..any pointers?

Quick check: have you entered your ISP's primary and secondary DNS servers' IP addresses on the connection? Right-click the connection icon under "Network Connections," choose properies, and go to the network tab. Enter your ISP's DNS servers. If you don't know them offhand, call your ISP's help desk--they'll give you the addresses over the phone.

Click on Start --> Run
type cmd in the open line
at the command prompt type:
ipconfig /flushdns

this will flush your DNS cache and hopefully address the issue. alternitavely you
can also run this command:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

that will reinstall the TCP/IP stack.

hope that helps
Cheers!
Terry

In reaction to message 2, no I dont have to fill in any DNS from my ISP. In reaction to message 3, this unfortunately didnt work either. It seems i have killed some dns stuff maybe, I was thinking it might have to do with 'newnet' or something called like that, which came as 'free' with some other app, and didnt uninstall correctly maybe?
