I'm running xp pro,it kicks me out of some of my games that ran fine in win 98.Thought it might be drivers,but they are up to date.Any ideas?I have a hunch it might be a memory problem( I have 256 k).

because xp doesn't have very good support for older games..
or older programs....

Try running them in compatibility mode....
