question about ATI RAGE 128 DRIVER

I installed the latest driver 6.13.3279 from the ATI website in my Win XP. When
starting a game, after a few seconds the screen blocks and goes in safety mode. What
can be the problem? I tried almost everything the last 10 days and become desperate...

How bout removing that driver and using earlier one???????????????
