uploading pictures

I took a picture at a high resolution(approx 2000X1900), downloaded it into my computer(it
took up 1.3 MG), and now I cannot upload it. I'm thinking I have to lower the resolution.
Is there a way to do this on the computer and then try to resend? The pictures
are no longer in my camera and I saved them as jpg. Thanks for your input.

What do you mean by "I cannot upload it?"
Properly that would imply you are trying to put it on a web server. Are you trying
to email it? If so your ISP may have a file size limitation. There are a number of
utilities that can be used to resize graphic files. One excellent free one is Irfanview.

Thank you for such a prompt reply. Here is specifically what I mean by upload: I
was sent a form by a company that asked me to upload a picture. They have a place
on the form called ipix. I click twice on it, use the browser to find the picture
in my computer, and it puts it on the spot that said ipix. Then I push upload.
The pictures I took with another camera were fine. So, no, I'm not emailing the
pictures. Does this make sense? Thanks.

It sounds like there is a cap on the file size they allow you to send
Like he said IrfanView can resize images
them easily
Try 1024X768 it is a good compromise between file size and clear detail
Or look on there FAQS (the place your tiring to sent it to) if they impose a size
limit it should be stated there
Or you could just try smaller and smaller sizes until you find one it accepts

yes it does, so ask the company what their requirements are. You now have two different
suggestions on free software tools to resize your pictures.
