I have a question about How do get the taskbar and desktop back if Explorer crashes:

I have the random crash problem but it started happening after a Windows Update Hotfix. If anyone finds a solution please post. It happens when I am accessing the Start Menu - explorer will just disappear and re-start with a few of my tasks missing from the tray.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the task manager select New Task(run...) from the file menu type explorer That should do it

Thanks Jane but I know how to restart Explorer.exe if it doesnt automatically start which it usually does but I was wondering why it happens in the first place !
