Eliminating Pop Up Stopper Free Edition Splash Screen

How can I eliminate the splash screen for Pop Up Stopper Free Edition which appears whenever Windows XP starts? An option for it appears in its tools, but is grayed out. Apparently, when ordring the deluxe edition of Pop Up Stopper for a fee, disabling of the splash screen is possible. There must be some registry tweak, but what is it?

Irv, I don't think you can stop it... but I do the next best thing... I untick the box for "Start Pop-Up Stopper when Windows starts" and I just start it manually when I go online...you still get the message though...

...Carl...

I found a small, free popup stopper by a college student - works great. Just copy/paste the link info to go to his page:

I must have a real old version because I don't get the screen and that preference is not greyed out.

Run Regedit, and browse to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Panicware\Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition Change the value for ShowSplashScreen from "yes" to "no"

Uninstall Pop-Up Stopper.

Download and install Opera Internet Browser v7.23.

Change settings to: "open requested popups only"

Pat yourself on the back for using Opera and enjoy an incredible internet experience.

Sorry... it works though. I haven't had a pop-up in about a year. not one. nor
do i have to deal with "Hold Ctrl to open pop-up you click on"
