'Rename the Recycle Bin' - how in XP?

I have a question about Rename the Recycle Bin:

The box in the upper right shows this tip is for XP, but the descriptions all say "except for XP" and the registry patch does nothing in XP. The tip for renaming it in XP, namely right clicking propreties, is bogus. Is there, then, a way to remove/rename the Recycle Bin in XP?

Thanks for your help - I did find another answer at http://www.windowsxpatoz.com/cgi-bin/search/index.cgi?answer=1036238154&id=1234567890. After following those instructions, all that remains is to delete the nameless recycle bin icon.

• Rename recycle bin - Edit HKCR\CLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} Recycle Bin. To put 'rename' in the recycle bin right-click menu: - Edit HKCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder, "Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20 , "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000 To remove 'rename' from recycle bin context menu: - Edit HKCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder, "Attributes"=hex:40,01,00,20 , "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000

The registry entry with {645ff040-5081-...} did not affect my XP. I upgraded from Win98SE. But found if you regedit HKCU\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows\shellNoRoam\MUICache. Then replaced the new name for "Recycle Bin" in the @C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll, -8964 key worked. Be sure to set permissions to allow you to make the change.

just copy and paste all the following into notepad and save as rename bin.reg then double click the file to import to registry. Right click recycle bin and click rename REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder] "Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20 "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000

Interesting, although after 3 years I expect the OP has come to terms with whatever his Recycle Bin is called.
