1) CTRL/ALT/Del once to bring up a list of running progs.
2) End winsrv32.exe if it is running.
3) Delete the files c:\drg.exe; c:\program files\win32.dll (not a system file, actually
a trojan) and c:\program files\winsrv32.exe
4) Use regedit to delete any registry keys containing 'surferbar, 'adplus,' and 'adbar.'
(Use Edit, Find, then Find Next)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce In the right panel, right-click and delete the following entry c:\program files\winsrv32.exe or c:\program files\wins32.exe....make SURE you change your Homepage back to where you want it BEfore you open IE....or you,ll get nailed again.

Have you ever wanted to go over to Redmond or Mercer Island (BG's home) and hold up a sign loudly proclaiming "Bill...make this d... software easier to use and troubleshoot." I used Macs for years until software programs trickled down to just a few while Windows was growing leaps and bounds. Not once during my Mac days did I ever worry about troubleshooting, Bios, registry, etc., etc. Like the Pink Rabbit, Macs just kept plugging along. In 6 years I only saw one "bomb", and that cleared up on reboot. I can only dream that one day Windows will work as well. Until then I have resigned myself to becoming an unwilling IT specialist...groan!
