Question about 'Getting Network Neighborhood to recognize newly attached computers'

I have a question about Getting Network Neighborhood to recognize newly attached computers:

I am trying to create a network between my HP desktop, and my recently purchased Compaq notebook. I am using a linksys wireless router, and have been able to connect to the internet on each machine. My problem is that I can't get either pc to recognise the other. I have tried everything that I can find, and have had no luck. It seems that network wizard is worthless. Anyway, I would appreciate any possible tips.

Make sure that both computers are configured for the same workgroup.

My Computer -> Properties -> Computer Name -> Change

In there you will see which Workgroup your computer is configured for. Check both
systems and make sure they match. That should bring them into view. Good luck with
it.
