If they are important, burn them onto a disk; floppies are liable to be damaged, corrupted and are way to unreliable!

Get something like WinZIP. It'll make files smaller to begin with, and you can span 
files across disks (meaning that if the ZIP file doesn't fit on one disk, it'll continue 
on the next).

Although I have floppies with 10-year old data in them that still work, I cannot say they are reliable storage. If your purpose is long term storage, I suggest CD-Rs. If your intention is to transfer files between computers, buy a USB minidrive. I bought one capable of storing 256 MB for $49. The one model which can hold 128 MB sells for $29. They are both USB 2.0 which will work also with USB 1. A little longer than a thumb, it can be attached to a keychain. Very easy to use. You have seen one, haven't you?
