I have read the pop up thread and left a message there, I need immediate help getting rid of this crap - services>messenger>stoped and disabled already done. How do I get rid of exsisting files on my hardrive? I went out and downloaded spyhunter to find out it located 100's of imprints but you have to buy the removal part - is there any "good" freeware out there to do this? thanks in advance!

Disabling the Messenger Service only removes the symptoms of the "illness."

If your system is suffering from Messenger Service popups, the problem is open TCP
and UDP ports. The spammers use the open ports to reach the Messenger Service.

The solution is a firewall to close the ports!

If you don't understand the concept, try the port scan at Steve
Gibson's www.grc.com or the port scan at the Symantec
web site.
