on this pc search engines won't search....it just gives me an error saying it can't find my server, but on my other computer it will search...ive tried sypbot adaware and online virus scanning...any ideas as to what may cause this? the only search engine that does work is the one on frontiernet.net

Not too sure... I might be wrong but you may want to check this out:

Trojan uses MS hole to hijack Web browsers

It's very new so it may not be detected by AV programs yet...

hmm...but I don't think I ahve vere been to fortuncity.com...I don't know...maybe a system restore will do it but i have my pc thje way I want it now...but i guess I may have to in a week or so...

you know...something else...a couple days ago my default search engine changed...from 
yahoo to google...I thought nothing of it till a few minutes ago...

You may want to check your hosts file.  Windows/System32/Drivers/Etc/hosts.
There have been reports that something makes entries in the file.
The only valid entry is probably the loopback entry, and that's not needed.
You can delete the entries, or just delete or rename the hosts file.
If you don't know what the host file is, then it's not needed.  If you use it, then 
I don't have to tell you how it's used.

well people thanks for the help..I tried all of it...still nothing..I even tried thunderbird explorer...which is considerably fatsr than ie...thank you again for trying..i will just have to get used to it I guess.
