Hi, can anyone please help me. I have a system run on windows xp professional, and
Asus A7S333 motherboard and an athlon 1900 xp processor. My computer keeps on radomaly
hanging, it does not restart, only the monitor goes black, and a strange repetitive
buzzing noise comes from the speakers. The lights on my monitor is still on, so i
presume it is still on. Thats all the information I have, please help!

So start working through the list of the 'Top reasons for random, fatal crashes in
Windows XP and Windows 2000.'
You have not provided any additional useful information, you want someone here to
magically determine what's wrong? Can't be done.

1st of all don't be a dick! that person may have forgot to do such a thing but I
have the same problem and I actually have some pieces of the puzzle that might can
help solve this riddle. I am a gamer and play mostly Empire Earth the Art of Conquest
and Battlefield 1942/Desert Combat. This problem usually occurs when I am loading
a map. Other then the games it would do it at random for no reason while i am busy
doing school work and I am in the 3D business and I would hate to lose my work. I
am smart enough to save frequently so don't flame me on that part...anyways also
lately as I have been researching this problem it is almost like the computer knows
what I am looking for and chrashes when I find something. so far writeing this message
it has done nothing. This problem started on monday and today is wednesday and I
have not got any work done other then trying to figure this out. if there is anyone
out there that is not a dick and can actually help please respond. I will post something
if I find a solution

Hi, I get similar problems. My problems started after I got into playing EE art of
conquest online. PC crashes regularly when the maps are loading and now also when
I'm not even in the game. I wonder whether all of the problems could be down to EE???

I am having the same problem and I am not a gamer. My computer has been working fine
since I got it but yesterday it stopped working. The screen goes black and the keyboard
stops responding (pressing numlock does not change the colour of the numlock light).
The power is still on to everything and the computer is still on. Fan is shirring,
screen is on (and not in power saving mode) but black.
I turn it off and then on again. It starts and then crashes a random time later.
It crashed very quickly yesterday but is taking much lkonger today.
I have not found a solution yet so would appreciate any help.

OK.. If you still subscribe to this thread, or any new ones I think I may have the
answer to your problem.
The fix that worked for me came around because I was having trouble after a couple
of RAM upgrades, a couple of AGP Video upgrades and an upgrade to a AMD AthlonXP
2400+TBred from a 1800+ TBred.A New Antec PS 430w Tru Power.
The last one put my PC over the edge and it was still booting down.. Just a power
off shutdown...5-6 mins before it would power up again.
Finally, after much review of the manual I decided to clear the CMOS Clock according
to the manual and reboot the PC to Default BIOS settings...Nothing happened..Opps...
forgot to reset the DIP switches to default..Did that and presto I was in the BIOS
again.. Switched the CPU to 2000mhz...(1500 was safe mode) After a restart, I then
went to the Control panel /System..to see what the CPU clocked in at and I got a
solid 2.0 ghz. I haven't tweaked it any further but I may still do that.
I believe the BIOS wasn't recognizing all of the things I was trying to do to the
MB.
Maybe this helps
