Hi Sten,
The file "WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe" found at www.cademuir.demon.co.uk is an
update you require (to prevent recurrence). Run this after also downloading and running
"Fixblast" from this same site. Being unable to remain operational without blaster
closing you down prematurely is a problem, but why not do the download elsewhere,
transfer to CDR and then run on your machine.

About a month ago, I purchased an HP a244w pc running Win XP. The first thing I did
when I connected to the internet was to download the latest Anti-virus updates from
Symantic. Shortly after that my pc would display "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Error Message
Regarding Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service" and then reboot itsself. At first
I thought I had contracted the worm virus but when I ran the "fix" program, it indicated
that the worm virus was not found on my pc. I installed several of the critical patches
from Microsoft and the problem seemed to go away. Now, periodically, my pc will re-boot
itsself without displaying any kind of message at all. The screen goes black and
the system restarts. The software packages that I have installed are MS Office XP
pro, MS Frontpage 2002 and Adobe Photo Elements. Any thoughts?
