Have you tried just changing the file association to another program.

Yes have tried changing file association with negative result. Also tried to run Registry Editor. Got message "cannot import exe:error opening file. There may be a disk or file system error." What to do now is my question.

Don't Know why you can't get things changed. I just changed from image viewer to explorer with no problem, by rt clicking on a photo, choosing, Open With, then, Choose Program, checking the Always box, and clicking on one of the programs in the list. If you don't see the program, you can browse for it and add it to the list. Once done Click OK, Please post back with the results.
