Some startup files fail to appear in system tray after loading.

You're correct, not all startup files display in the icon tray.

Go to Start > Run > msconfig. The last tab on the dialog will list all programs
that run on startup, along with checkboxes for selecting/deselecting them.

Hope that answers your question.
