Question about 'Stop Windows (XP Explorer) from (Randomly) Searching the Floppy Drive'

I've been recently encountering a problem with Windows XP searching the Floppy Drive,
too. But it's not that randomly as some of you might have experienced.

It only happens when I open "My Computer" on the Desktop or in the Explorer. Before
I am shown the content of "My Computer" (that is to say my computer's drives) it
takes the floppy drive between 1 and 2 seconds to make its terrible noise while checking
that there is no disk inserted.

Because I did a lot of software installing over the weekend I cannot tell when it
actually occurred, but I suspect the installation of "CompuSec 4.16 SP2" (a system
security and encryption tool by CE-Infosys IT) of having caused this trouble.

Does anyone know, what to do? Otherwise my last chance would be to permanently disable
my floppy in the device manager...

Thanks and kind regards
Linus

Thanks for your suggestion but where should I look for such shortcuts? And how do
I recognize and find them?
