indeo codec

I reformatted my c drive and I am trying to install Combat Mission (this was installed
on this computer before the reformatting) and I get a message that Indeo Codec needs
to be installed for the program to work and it directs me to (http://indeo.ligos.com)
and they want to charge $14.95. Where can I get this for free and will it screw up
any of my current codec versions I presently use? Also on cnet I looked up Indeo
Codec and there were over 240 ratings for this and only 15% gave it a thumbs up.
Also when viewing centain Mpegs WMVs AVI's some of them dont work. Is there a free
version of codec that is up to date that plays all files with no errors?

I was installing an old software Barbie Girl Gotta Groove on Windows XP for my daughter.
It pointed me to www.indio.ligo.com and they were asking me for $15. Can you send
me the codec that you mentioned in the previous mail? Thanks.
