Here are links to FREE programs for extensive RAM testing!

Here is a link to a great program that tests faulty RAM modules. It comes in several
flavors : free windows version, commercial pro version for mass testing, and commercial
suite with a bootable test floppy, to test the actual RAM without any OS running.
It's called memtest, unsurprisingly.
I use it all the time to test new RAM modules or new RAM timings...

Another such free one is memtest86, released under GPL :

Now don't say you can't find a free program to test your RAM!
Note to author: You might want to include those links into the original article ;-)

Would appreciate help on use of memtest-86 version 3.0. I have made the required
bootable diskette but as soon as I boot up the system memtest-86 starts the test
in default mode (tests 1>7) without allowing configuration. I am trying to run the
extended tests but whatever I configure, the program starts on the default tests.
Thks
