Way to do it without downloading 3rd party programs

Its very simple to show the date without those 3rd party programs. Just unlock the taskbar if you haven't done so already, and pull the taskbar up until it is two times as thick as it usually is. It will then show the time, day of the week, and the date (in the format chosen in Regional Settings). This also allows more space for taskbar icons, and an extra row for Quick Launch etc.

yeah, or just look at the day and date on these posts. I've even got a calendar on the wall so if the power goes out I still know what day it is. ;)

Please accept, on behalf of the many users of this web site, the Luddite Award of the Week. (Oh, dear, I, too, have a calendar on the wall; would you mind sharing the award with me?)
