Then you find the entry HKey_LocalMachine/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon and the right side will say Shell Reg_sz Explorer.exe C:\Windows\System32.exe, i deleted this when i had the same message and it got rid of the start up message. I'm no mega smart person when it comes to this so I'm not sure how safe to delete it it is but it did work for me. [Reply or follow-up to this message] re: System 32 box on startup and popups in IExplorer Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 10:33 pm Posted by neal (137 messages posted) what stephen is referring too may be where yur problem is , just make sure if u delete anything make it so it reads as follows: shell = explorer.exe for example highlight the shell extension, right click it. choose modify, in the value data area it should read explorer.exe ,, click okay.. close out regedit.. reboot the computer. hopefully yur messages will be gone. do not go hogwild when in the registry..u can mess things up in here if u don't know what yur doing.
