I have a question about Enabling or Disabling Automatic Windows Update:

Hi. I have a very odd problem maybe you can help me with since I find this site very informable. :) I actually WANT to preform an update on windows(XP) but it says I have it disabled. Ok. so..I go to system and try to check the box which i Unchecked(To disable windows update) and now I cannto check thebox. I go to microsoft to do a manual update..and it says That I Do not have access to this...administrator blah blah blah. We do not have multi users on my computer..we just sign on to welcome screen and then.. we're on as administrator. I tried opening IE and went to tools..but do not see a drop down for win.update, so now how am I going to update? :( Its eems that somehow the administrator may have gotten deleted? Should I just Create another account as an administrator, or has this all happened because I disabled win. update in the first place? I'm confused. You can email me directly with any info anyone may ahve for me.. at: trash_faerie@msn.com or posst it here...but it's easier for me to read it in my email. Thanks so much. -Didi
