I like to go to www.pogo.com and play games but when I play poppit, which is popping balloons, I can't see the balloons but can hear them pop when I click on them. I have e-mailed pogo games and have talked to Sun Technology who owns Java and even reinstalled windows xp. It has something to do with Java software and xp. I have reinstalled Java and installed updates. Where the advertising screen comes up I can't see that either, it is blank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You didn't state what Java you reinstalled.
You can download Sun Java here.

Click on the "Get it Now" button in the green box at the top of the page.

What advertising screen are you talking about?

My wife had the same problem, the problem is not JAVA but POGO not using JAVA correctly. Open your Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. Scroll down until you see Java, uncheck that box, then right below that you should see Microsoft VM, check only the box JIT compiler, click OK,restart Internet Explorer. Now try POGO and such, it will work now. One more thing, if you are using Windows XP (Home or Pro) and you have installed SP1a, then you will no longer have Microsoft VM available to check. You will have to find someone that has SP1 and install that to get Microsoft VM back. Hopefully all you will have to do is what I outlined above.

I installed Java from the green box, version Java(TM) 1.4.2-03. The advertising is after you choose a room to go into then an advertising screen comes up before you actually go to a room.

Thank you for answering but I tried what you said to do but it didn't work for me. Pogo is still the same. I unchecked Java and I did have Microsoft VM and I checked. If you can think of anything else I can try I would sure appreciate you letting me know.

Is it possible some setting in your software firewall is causing this?

That is a good thought and I did install a firewall the same day I lost the picture with Pogo but I uninstalled the firewall last night and it didn't change Pogo at all but it might have something to do with the firewall. I think I will contact Norton and see if they have any suggestions. Thanks
