I have 2 pcs (2000 server, xp client) linked with a crossover cable , they can both
share files fine but i cant get ics to work, i have set it up as described in teh
article and so i connect to my dialup with the 2000 pc adn start iexplorer on my
xp laptop, but it just searches for a dialup connection rather than looking for a
network way through, even though i have "never dial a connection" checked in internet
options. i would appreciate any help, thanks.
ps i have tried all of the aformentioned options in internet options.

Does your XP laptop have a static IP? Under the default set-up any ICS client computers
must get their IP dynamically from the ICS host.

Disable Internet Connection Sharing and try this. Instructions are included in a
text file (proxy.txt)
AnalogX Proxy
