My daughter's system got that way from too much p2p garbage - she had 2 viruses and over 400 spyware entries in her registry. Even after cleaning out all of that, the cpu was at a 100% continuously. I will have to try CWShredder as well. I haven't seen the problem since last night after running Spybot, but I haven't used my computer much since then. I'll have to run CWShredder too and see if it persists.
