Question about 'Get Rid of the My Computer Icon'

I have a question about Get
Rid of the My Computer Icon:
Rather than make up new icons and have a blank space on your desktop, drag the my
computer icon to the side of the screen, where it will become an automatically hidden
menu. then, it is out of your way, but if you need to access it, you roll over it
and it pops out.

Now how do I get rid of the hidden menu, which isn't really hidden? (Win XP)

That didn't work. But I got rid of it by disabling the My Computer Toolbar. Sorry
to hear about your hand. Probably rough operating the mouse with left hand.
