I have a question about Why
are some entries missing from the Start Menu?:
hi everyone,
Not only do I have the above problem, I also lost all the following functions, as
in nothing happens, no crash, no popup menu - just nothing :
1. SEARCH button in window explorer
2. ^F & F3 function in window explorer
3. Macro-F in WinXP system
(however in Internet Explorer, IE, the SEARCH,
I've installed TweakXP Pro & Tweak UI, both of which I've already enabled SEARCH
function.
System : WinXP Corporate Edition
Thank you.
Regards,
Ben

Fixed!
I did a few things but i suspect that removing and re-installing the indexing function
from the "add windows components" thingy is what clinched it. If that doesn't help
let me know and i'll try and remember what else i did, bearing in mind it was more
than 5 minutes ago! ;-)

I have the same problem with the 'Search' option not appearing on my Start menu any
longer. I also was missing the 'Run' option as well, and regedit.exe was no longer
working. Also I can no longer right click on an icon or file and get the dropdown
menu (which I believe is called the context menu) to appear. It initially was caused
by spyware, or so it appeared. As removing some spyware with XoftSpySE gave me back
the 'run' option on the start menu, and allowed regedit.exe to function again, but
I am still not able to right click and get a drop down menu, nor does the 'Search'
option appear in the Start menu. I removed and reinstalled the indexing function
as you stated, but that didn't help me at all. Do you happen to remember what else
you did to get the 'Search' option back? Thanks in advance !
