Dell laptop screen goes blank running xp

I have a Dell Inspirion 5150. It has been shutting off frequently. I have sent in to Dell, twice. First time they replaced my RAM chips, with the wrong amount I might add. The second time they apparently only changed the RAM back to 512. Nothing else. I seem to have pinpointed the times it shuts down. No sooner had it been out of the box when I moved it, and the screen goes blank! It seems to go blank or turn off when I unplug the cord (with a full battery), tilt the screen, or slide it across the desk. Is this a short? I am very upset about Dell's support. They have done nothing to fix this. Could it be a short?
