For some reason I can't boot into my CD ROM even when the WINXP CD is in there. Im trying to boot using the 6 floppy boot disks, every time i get to disk 3 I get error 4104 - setupreg.hiv could not be loaded. How do I boot into the CD to reinstall XP? any help will be greatly appreciated as I can't even get into Dos at the moment. Thanks

You haven't said what happens (or not) when you try to boot with your WXP CD, but I am wondering if your BIOS is set to recognize your CD drive as the first bootable device. Consult your computer materials about that BIOS setting and how to set it. You get into your BIOS settings by pressing, or repeatedly pressing, a keyboard key - usually "delete" - as the computer boots up until the BIOS setup or settings screen comes up.

Sorry, I should have said. The Bios settings were the first thing I checked and has the CD drive as the first Boot attempt. Having said this it does not appear to boot to CD at all, it just carries on as if no CD was in the drive

If you have a recovery CD from your computer vendor rather than an original install WXP CD, have you consulted with the vendor or its website or the materials you received with your computer as to your problem?
I assume you can't boot into safe mode?
